Holding Life

light

Hunger pangs

Cravings

For connection

Reaching out

To an inner light

Remembering

A heart

That beats

Cherishing

The sacred

Essence of Self

Holding Life

In my hands

Breathing in

 Presence

Gently.

“If we don’t look at where we’re dishonest, harsh, unforgiving, disrespectful, greedy, domineering, and so on, then we cannot change that thing. If we just suppress our shadow, trying to disown it, then it exists as an unintegrated fractal of our personality. And we have no power over what we have not explored.”

– Marianne Williamson

holding life

“I’m going to tell you a secret: All things that breathe, that grow, that have a beat to their heart or flow to their cells, all things alive are connected. If you take the time to hold life, truly hold it in your hands, you can feel this connection.”

-Tyler Knott Gregson

The Secret Mirth of Rain

Across hills

Rolling in abundant

Are the Odds Stacked Against Us?

“Much of what life hands us comes without the prelude of fear and worry. Our fears don’t stop death, they stop life. More than we care to admit, more than we even know, our lives are devoted to dealing with fear and its effects. Fear is a shadow that blocks everything: our love, our true feelings, our happiness, our very being….But how much of what we fear is going to happen? The truth is, there really isn’t a big correlation between what we fear and what happens to us…Yet most of us live our lives as if the odds are stacked against us. One of our biggest challenges here is to try to overcome these fears.”

Lines of light

Falling

From the sky

Touching

Tin chimney stacks

Stretching

Upwards toward

A downy duvet

Of dove grey cloud

Prowling

In luminous

Grey Shadow

Image

In the dim light

Of the near future

Grey shadow

Adds dimension

To solidity

That was always

There

Though perception

Wasn’t yet born

Into the moment

Called now

A breath brought it

Into existence.

Or was it

The thought

That preluded it?

Ah, there was something,

Something in-between

An emotion or feeling

That attached itself

To thought before

And then came

The smile

Or rather, the breath

An easing into being

A sigh of gratitude

For grey shadow

Outlining the form

All around

Giving definition

To what is

While what was

Blends into darker

Shades

Of demure memory.

Inside It’s Snowing

Image

Sometimes the solace falling gently

A lace heart delicate and fragile

Sometimes a delightful crunch under toe

And yet to be trampled under way

But those are the weather conditions

Sometimes the howling wind in the head

A whirl of snow that blinds in confusion

Sometimes coldness of the soul

A paralysing grip leaving emotions helpless

But those are the weather conditions

Sometimes the ice begins to melt

A thawing into vulnerability

Sometimes piles shovelled aside

A necessity to see the path

Those are the weather conditions

Inside it is snowing

For god-sakes the purity!

The renewal of spiritual cleansing,

Shadows releasing new light

There is nothing one can do

……About those weather conditions
