Coming Home

Today the hill

Put on a

Different dress

To greet me

Frilly spring green

Lined with darker

Evergreen

A lace slip of

Pear blosooms

Peeking from underneath

Her voice…

Filled with a thousand

Notes of birdsong

Calling me

To the heart

Of home.

Lunar Eclipse and Sweet Harmony

S0172047

Excerpts from Shakespeare’s “Merchant of Venice”:

Lorenzo:
How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank!
Here will we sit, and let the sounds of music
Creep in our ears: soft stillness and the night
Become the touches of sweet harmony.
Look, how the floor of heaven
Is thick inlaid with patines of bright gold:
There’s not the smallest orb that thou behold’st
But in his motion like an angel sings
Still quiring to the young-eyed cherubins;
Such harmony is in immortal souls;
But, whilst this muddy vesture of decay
Doth grossly close it in, we cannot hear it.
Come, ho! and wake Diana with a hymn:
With sweetest touches pierce your mistress’ ear,
And draw her home with music.

Jessica:
I am never merry when I hear sweet music.

Lorenzo:
The reason is, your spirits are attentive:
The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not mov’d with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems and spoils;
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus:
Let no such man be trusted… Music! hark!

Nerissa:
It is your music of the house.

Portia:
Methinks it sounds much sweeter than by day.

Nerissa:
Silence bestows that virtue on it.

Portia:
How many things by season season’d are.
To their right praise and true perfection!
Peace, ho! the moon sleeps with Endymion,
And would not be awak’d.

(Soft stillness and the night
Become the touches of sweet harmony.)

Where does Love Reside?

I surrender myself over

To my heart

There Love resides

Infinite Soul

We are all One

Gracias a la Vida / Thanks to Life

Performed by Mercedes Sosa

Lyrics:

Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me two stars, which when I open them,
Perfectly distinguish black from white
And in the tall sky its starry backdrop,
And within the multitudes the one that I love.

Graba noche y día, grillos y canarios,
Martillos, turbinas, ladridos, chubascos,

Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me hearing that, in all of its reach
Records night and day crickets and canaries,
Hammers and turbines, bricks and storms,
And the tender voice of my beloved.

Me ha dado el sonido y el abecedario;
Madre, amigo, hermano, y luz alumbrando

Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me sound and the alphabet.
With them the words I think and declare:
“Mother,” “Friend,” “Brother” and light shining down on
The road of the soul of the one I’m loving.

Me ha dado la marcha de mis pies cansados;
Con ellos anduve ciudades y charcos,
Playas y desiertos, montañas y llanos,
Y la casa tuya, tu calle y tu patio

Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me the steps of my tired feet.
With them I have traversed cities and puddles
Valleys and deserts, mountains and plains.
And your house, your street and your garden.

Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me this heart that shakes its frame,
When I see the fruit of the human brain,
When I see good so far from evil,
When I look into the depth of your light eyes…

Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me laughter and it gave me tears.
With them I distinguish happiness from pain
The two elements that make up my song,
And your song, as well, which is the same song.
And everyone’s song, which is my very song.

Song by: Joan Baez

Immersing soul

Into simplicity and silence

Touching inner beauty

Called myself

Being still

Calm

Life is a Mystery

mystery

“The God I cry out to in anguish or joy can neither be proved nor disapproved. The hope I have that death is not the end of all our questions can neither be proved nor disproved.”

Soul Funk Crusader

Here is a little funk for the evening folks…have a good night, but before you go say to yourself…

“When I leave a room, it’s gonna be footprints of funk wherever I stepped, because I’m a soul funk crusader.” (Big Boi)

…..and remember your essence! Then…

“Put a glide in your stride, a dip in yo’ hip and come on up to the mothership.” (George Clinton)
