All Hallows Day

S0583116

“All of the places of our lives are sanctuaries; some of them just happen to have steeples. And all of the people in our lives are saints; it is just that some of them have day jobs and most will never have feast days named for them.”
— Robert Benson

S0683128

“The challenge of the saints of the twenty-first century is to begin again to comprehend the sacred in the ten thousand things of our world; to reverence what we have come to view as ordinary and devoid of spirit.”
— Edward Hays

S0593117

“The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it emotionally. A higher paradox confounds the emotion as well as reason and there are long periods in the lives of all of us, when the truth as revealed by faith is hideous, emotionally disturbing, downright repulsive. Witness the dark night of the soul in individual saints . . .”
― Flannery O’Connor

S0543112

“What if the church should be less concerned with creating saints than creating a world where we do not need saints? A world where people like Mother Teresa and MLK would have nothing to do.”
― Peter Rollins

S0573115

“Saints are sinners who kept on going.”
― Robert Louis Stevenson

S0713131

“A saint is a person who is reborn from his grave where he was trapped by living in himself. The time has come for all mankind to become saints, to be complete human beings. A saint is one whose self has completely died to become the living Truth.”
― Woo Myung

The Art of Grace

Grace

Falling

into my lap

Grace

Not Knowing

Anything

About

Anything

Grace

Keeping

 Me humble

Giving

Strength

To walk

Through Fear

Of being Inadequate

Never Measuring up

Never Being Good enough

Grace

Letting

All things Be

Transcending

Emotion

and

Petty

thinking

Grace

Revealing

Nothing

Is lost

Along

The way

 Grace

 opening space

for

compassion

and

kindness

Grace

commanding

the extremes

of the

Universe.

Self Exploration

antique bottles

Want ripped a hole

Into the pocket

Of my life

I lost a lot

Of energy

To the nickels

And dimes

Of dramatic emotion

Now I empty

My pockets

Everyday

So that

I can be free

To explore

My true nature

The Poem

IMG_0037

I looked

In every place

All these years

Except my heart

I listened

To the noise

all around

Except my voice

I smelled

the tales

between pages

Except my story

I tasted

 Of earth’s

abundance

Except my soul

I touched

the vibrance

of life

Except my spirit

Now

I will be

the POEM.

Reflections of Me

Today I would like to share some poetry from Twitter as well as some art and photography that have inspired me.

honesty

painting by: Nishant Dange

She always knew that
She would need to feel
Every single raw emotion
To be real
Still choosing to love
Above them all

deep breathes

Holding in emotions
Is like holding your breath
Eventually you’re going to have to breathe
Deep breaths
Honest breaths
In
And
Out

Grey Shadow

Image

In the dim light

Of the near future

Grey shadow

Adds dimension

To solidity

That was always

There

Though perception

Wasn’t yet born

Into the moment

Called now

A breath brought it

Into existence.

Or was it

The thought

That preluded it?

Ah, there was something,

Something in-between

An emotion or feeling

That attached itself

To thought before

And then came

The smile

Or rather, the breath

An easing into being

A sigh of gratitude

For grey shadow

Outlining the form

All around

Giving definition

To what is

While what was

Blends into darker

Shades

Of demure memory.
