“In taking good care of yourself, you take good care of your beloved one. Self-love is the foundation for your capacity to love the other person. If you don’t take good care of yourself, if you aren’t happy, if you aren’t peaceful, you cannot make the other person happy. You cannot help the other person; you cannot love. Your capacity for loving another person depends entirely on your capacity for loving yourself, for taking care of yourself.”
~Thich Nhat Hahn~
Today, the first day of 2014, I continue on my soul journey. I move forward in love. Love for myself, my well-being, my joy and happiness, and my peace of mind. I will honor my essence through breathing into existence all that I am. As I go along my path, I begin to understand that in loving myself, making myself happy, and cultivating peace and joy there is also the possibility to include others within that process at the same time. There is an infinite space for the well-being of everyone. Its a day to day practice, and it becomes a challenge to cultivate mindfulness, concentration, and insight through the seemingly mundane. I desire to expand my capacity for love to its full potential. I commit to live in honor of my essence, therefore, honoring others and life, itself. I touch the earth and give thanks for the beauty of being. I look and listen deeply with a heart, mind and soul full of hope. Welcome home 2014!
